The application for Fall 2023 will open on September 27th and will close on December 1 or when funds run out. USP Scholarship USP provides scholarships up to $1, 500 per academic year to students without work authorization. The application for 2023-2024 will open on September 27th. MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORTWellness Groups & Workshops Join other undocumented students to learn emotional management skills and find support in community. HeartSpeak: Tuesdays 4:15-5:30 at the UCRC (180 Cesar Chavez) HeartSpeak is a weekly support space centers social connection as a foundation for wellness, racial trauma-healing, and resilience during difficult times. Each session will offer a conversational support space, as well as beginner-level meditation skill practice. Additional coping tools will be offered as collective group needs arise. A brief phone conversation with the group facilitator, Diana Peña is required to make sure it’s a good fit for your needs. Let’s Talk/Drop-In Let’s Talk is a casual consult with a licensed mental health provider, which can help you explore resources and discuss how counseling might be helpful. As one of the largest providers of free legal services in the East Bay and home to eight of Berkeley Law’s community-based clinics, EBCLC places tremendous importance on the health of our staff, students, clients and the public. In an effort to support community well-being, we have closed our offices and have cancelled our drop-in appointments and in-person clinics from Thursday, March 12, 2020 until further notice. We are committed to providing responsive legal services in the areas of housing, health, immigration, education, and economic security, and we will continue to do so with the utmost respect for our clients. General Consultations All general consultations scheduled through our online booking system will take place by phone or Zoom. DACA Renewal Update (as of 1/3/2022) The USP Legal Support Team will submit renewals for DACA recipients, but are prioritizing those with earlier expiration dates (within the next 6 months). Please make an appointment beginning 160 days before a DACA work permit will expire. For questions about initial applications, please email usplegal@ebclc.org. As of 7/27/2021, general DACA Program Updates can be found here: https://immigrantsrising.org/daca/. To schedule a DACA Renewal appointment, please do so here. Allow Reuse of Some Biometrics Applicants who had an appointment scheduled with an ASC on or after the March 18, 2020 USCIS closures or who filed an I-765 extension will have their application processed using previously submitted biometrics. This will remain in effect until ASCs resume normal operations. Please schedule remote appointments through our online booking system for non-DACA renewal related inquiries, DACA renewals online booking system, or email us at usplegal@ebclc.org, or contact your caseworker for assistance with a legal matter.
