EBCLC provides free legal support and resources about immigration law to undocumented UC Berkeley students and, when possible, their undocumented family members. Current Clients of EBCLC If EBCLC is assisting you with a pending immigration application, please reach out to your caseworker directly regarding any questions or concerns. Legal Consultations All new and returning clients should schedule an appointment through our online booking system following these instructions. When you sign up for a consultation, you may indicate your preference for a consultation by Zoom, phone, or in person at our Adeline St. office. If your matter is urgent, please note the reason for urgency and any deadlines when you sign up for a consultation, and we will contact you to move up your appointment if needed. Please contact usplegal@ebclc.org with any questions or concerns. Legal Updates DACA renewal processing times have increased recently, and it is not uncommon for renewals to be pending for 4-5 months. We advise students who need to renew their DACA to contact us at least 6 months prior to expiration. The Biden administration recently announced policies that may benefit those seeking an employment-based temporary visa (H-1B) and certain spouses of U.S. citizens. For more information on these policy changes, see these resources. EBCLC has partnered with Path2Papers, a project at Cornell Law School that provides consultations on employment-based immigration options for DACA recipients and those who would be eligible for DACA. You may sign up online for a Path2Papers consultation, or we would be happy to share more information about Path2Papers during a general consultation with EBCLC. For updates on DACA, please see Immigrants Rising’s DACA Updates page.
